Congestion Expected

Context
Based in part on the transmission projection as referred to in Article 5.1.1.1, 5.1.1.2 and 5.1.1.4a of the Grid Code the relevant network operator determines on a daily bases if the single failure reserve during the expected period of transmission constraints in the congested area can be maintained for each program time unit.

The publications shows the expected congestion in MW per program time unit for 24 hours of the day of execution.

When
Every day no later than 14 hours day-ahead (d-1), before the day of operation where congestion is expected information is published for which program time unit congestion management is needed.

Unit
Publication will take place in MW per program time unit (in hourly values) per day. In case of a production surplus, the expected congestion in MW appears as a negative value (- sign). Which means that for that PTU there should be down regulation.
If case of a production deficit, the expected congestion in MW appears as a positive value. Which means that for that PTU there should be up regulation.

Update
Given the need for congestion management is determined based in part on the transmission projection, TenneT publishes an update of the net safety analysis, around 15:15 hours of the expected congestion management per program time unit.

Availability
You can consult historical data by selecting a date using the pull down menu or a date to be inserted (mm-dd-yyyy). This information is available online three years.
